This will be a not-for-profit organisation of social-political activists which may get registered as Namma Mangaluru
Invitation and Eligibility:
All adult citizens of Mangaluru (irrespective of their political affiliations) who would like to contribute to have a better mangaluru- Namma Mangaluru are eligible
They must not been convicted for any criminal offence punishable by more than 5 years in prison by a competent court or for any financial misappropriation.
Purpose:
The purpose of this organisation is to provide a platform for acivists to enrol themselves as members. This platform will give them the list of other activists with contact numbers. This platform will try to channelize the energy of the activists by displaying their unique capabilities/interests; fight for public interest causes to get easier and effective
- This organisation will not in any manner promote or instigate or participate in violence.

The strategy of this organisation will be to encourage members to support other members in their issue thereby expecting them to support back for their issue in future.
Issues taken up should be attractive. Private matters will not be allowed. Only right issues (may or may not target any political party) will eventually get full support, is our belief.
All members will be free to support others causes if they like to do so. They will be free to refrain from supporting others in issues picked up. Obviously, he/she cannot expect the support from others if he/she has not supported others before, unless his/her issue is compelling beyond all these natural human tendencies.

For every area/ward there may be one or more persons who chooses a public-interest-issue and would like to lead that movement. He/She will be called the lead person of that movement and will have to lead starting from planning, inviting, executing and press reporting. Other members will help him/her. Finally when we have to go public or to press, this lead person will decide as to who should take the credit and in which order. Basically, this organisation would like to ensure that the person who works gets the credit. The person who takes the issue will be responsible for its success or failure, although it will be a team effort with guaranteed recognition at appropriate stage.
The objective of this organisation will be a better Mangaluru. We can achieve Better Mangaluru by active citizenry, and also by posing a serious challenge for existing politicians, especially the Corporators, by making them realize the fact that there are capable persons for a healthy competition in the forthcoming Corporation elections in mangaluru after 3 years.
Functioning style & Committee:
- General Meetings of all members will be held once in 30-45 days.
- Duration of meet will be less than 45 minutes.
- Meetings will not be used to discuss public issues or their solutions.
- Meetings will be used to give opportunity for members to reiterate their commitment for society by revealing "What I am are ready to do for other members' causes" example:
- I am ready to come for protest.
- I am ready to come to submit memorandum to DC, Commissioner, etc
- I am ready to do running around work for police permissions, etc.
- I am ready to give my signature for rti applications, memorandums, etc
- I am ready to make phone calls to other members to inform about your work, etc etc

(members will not be permitted to tell anything other than that. example: cannot tell what others should do; Cannot tell that he will do a protest tomorrow)
- Core group Committee members will organise and conduct these meetings. These committee members do not have any additional chance of getting publicity in achievements done by others.
- Members will be provided with list of members and contact details of all others with usefulness markers upon request
- Members are free to contact each other and help each other without using "namma mangaluru" name in their tasks.
- Members will have to give 24 hrs notice to any of the core committee member and wait for their nod before using "namma mangaluru" name in their tasks, banners, letters, press release.
- Core committee members will discuss about issues, their suitability to be taken up under the " namma mangaluru" banner on a voluntary basis. they cannot take credit for this selfless service of scrutinising requests.
- Core committee should be preferably be filled with people having knowledge about solution of civic issues, functioning of various departments in the city, and capacity to do online/quick research on issues. Basically he/she should be able to take a call on suitability within 24 hours.
- Core committee members meeting could happen as and when necessary.
This association will not be able to provide a platform for members to discuss their problems
This association does not have legal assistance team, etc to serve its members to the fullest.
How will this association benefit members?
